The Year of Our Lord 2014

Isaiah 60:2 (NKJV) For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.

As we enter into a new year, Isaiah 60:2 will come into greater focus as we see a bigger separation taking place in both the world and the church. A line has been drawn in the sand and the Lord exhorts every one of us: "choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve."

The difference between the holy and profane, good and evil is being made clear. As the darkness grows around us God's true people shall become clearer and brighter. We will see the world continue its spiral into immorality and wickedness at the same time that God's people will come into greater separation from all that defiles. It will be made clear before all those who hallow His name and those who profane it.

Revelation 22:10-12 (NKJV) And he said to me, "Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand. He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still." "And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.

Malachi 3:18 (NKJV) Then you shall again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.

This will be a time to stand firm. In their pride and self-righteous indignation, the ungodly will turn more and more against all who stand for righteousness. Persecution will increase as they cast off all restraint and rage against the Lord and His anointed. They will take counsel together to overthrow any semblance of Godly rule. The enemy knows his time is short and the prince of the power of the air is working in the sons of disobedience to fulfill the lusts of their flesh as never before. Pandora's Box has been opened and the extent of evil spewing forth has yet to be seen.

2 Timothy 3:12 (NKJV) Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

The people of God must draw into Christ as never before. Grow up into Him Who is your Head. Many are still like children being swayed by the tide of evil men twisting words to draw them away. Many fear the faces of men and will not stand in the time of trouble but will fall away. It is a time of testing but the Lord will preserve those who are His. He will have a faithful remnant, "blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life" (Philippians 2:15).

The pillars of the faith must be established in your life as never before. Your life must be saturated in the word, prayer, worship, discipleship, unity, faith, love and fellowship. Be doers of the word and not hearers only. Be faithful to fulfill the ministry with which you were called. Remember the parables of the ten virgins, the talents, and the sheep and goats. Do not be found wanting in that day.

Luke 21:12-15 (NKJV) But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name's sake. But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony. Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist.

This is also the opportunity to witness. All of these things coming on the earth will serve the purpose of God to open the hearts of men to His gospel. As fear grips the multitudes they will turn to those who are at peace. Be ready to give an answer for the hope that is in you. It is an occasion for testimony, to hold out the word of life to all men. Show them the kingdom that is not of this world.

Above all remember, John 14:1 (NKJV) "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me." God is with us!
